Nov. 24-25

Nikon N70, Ilford XP2 Super:
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24 - unknown locations. This pic is how sidewalks are re-paved on shop-lined streets. Wooden planks are laid over the wet concrete for access to stores.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 7:08-7:13 a.m. - Fuzhoushan Park. I discovered this park off Xinhai Rd. (with access also from Wolong St. from Linguang MRT station on the brown line) at night and decided to explore it during daylight hours. The top pic is looking northwest towards the Taida campus, with the white roof of the sports stadium standing out. Shin Kong Mitsukoshi landmark building next to Taipei Main Station is at the right.
11:01 a.m. - From Minquan E. Rd. Bridge. Hours later I found myself around the Keelung riverside bikeways in Songshan District.
2:19 p.m. - And hours later yet, I was at the architectural wonder of The Living Mall in Songshan District.
1:28 p.m. - The opposite half of the sphere is indoors with escalators that defy description. There are conventional floor-to-floor escalators elsewhere.
2:10 p.m. - From an upper floor of The Living Mall. The scaffold moves along the outside of the sphere, allowing for maintenance and cleaning. This is shooting south and the distinctive sloping Chinese-style roof of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall can be seen through the scaffolding. The elevated roadway of Civic Blvd runs left to right across the pics, and in coming years the entire block of empty lot on the other side will be completely developed.
2:12 p.m. - Internal upper floors of The Living Mall. Access to these floors would be limited years down the line as the "living" mall slowly, very slowly, dies.
2:16 p.m.

Fuzhoushan Park. Fuzhou is a city in mainland China in Fujian province just across the Taiwan Strait, from whence early Chinese crossed to settle on the island centuries ago. The local Taiwanese language is said to be very similar, if not exactly the same, to Fujian/Fukien dialect, but I can't confirm. "Shan" means mountain.
From Minquan Rd. Bridge over the Keelung River towards Neihu District.
