April 14-20

SATURDAY, APRIL 14, 3:44 p.m. - A classic, "Well, there's your problem!"
SUNDAY, APRIL 15, 11:27 a.m. - Shots from my new apartment window. Those red decorations on the car are tell-tale signs of an Asian wedding. Long zoom.
12:31 p.m. - Shots from my new apartment window. A job I couldn't do.
 Nikon N70, Ilford XP2 Super, ISO 800:

Gathering under Roosevelt Rd., others above crossing the Jingmei River.
Street shooting in Jingmei.
THURSDAY, APRIL 19, 3:12 p.m. - Riding through Fudekeng cemetery.
3:20 p.m. - Guardian deity on a Taoist temple on Jungong Rd. I was riding the long downhill and saw the stairs for the temple and stopped to check it out. Not much to see but this guy with a big sword.
3:28 p.m. - They're in the testing stages of a new cable car that runs from Taipei Zoo MRT station up to the tea growing region of Maokong. It's slated to open this summer if all goes well. Which is to say there's no guarantee it will open this summer.
3:46 p.m. - Jingmei River through Maokong. Yep, there's Taipei 101 peeking over the hills.
5:03 p.m. - Shots from my new apartment window. My window faces south and I'm usually looking left to the east. This is looking right to the west. That overpass is what was Roosevelt Rd. in Taipei but becomes Beixin Rd. here in Xindian.
FRIDAY, APRIL 20, 10:13 a.m. - Field trip! Nanyuan Estate in Hsinchu County about an hour and a half southwest of Taipei. There's nothing cultural or historical about it, though. It used to belong to some newspaper tycoon and was recently opened to the public for tourism. Basically to show what rich Taiwanese can spend money on.

10:54-11:29 a.m.

We next went to a place called Nanwan, which apparently has something to do with an aboriginal tribe in the area. It was up in the mountains a bit and gave me the chance to go off on my own and not be crowded by the touristy thing.
